Recap of Ragtrade...
We know, we know, its been a minute since we've last updated you on anything Larika Page. And for that we greatly apologize. Those are the woe's of a growing company...so much to do and not enough bodies to do them. Well no worries, we have some great things coming up in this new year and we promise not to miss a beat with keeping you in the know every step of the way! But first, hopefully everyone enjoyed the holiday season and ready to get to it, now that we're in the new year!!
We are going to back things up, just a little, and give you a recap of our RagTrade show! It was such a pleasure to have our Spring 15 collection walk the runway at W Hotel-Buckhead in conjunction with RagTrade and a handfull of amazing designers. As all show days go, it was as hectic as hectic can get. No sleep for the entire week before, last minute alterations, hand sewing and perfecting are all a part of the game. And while we dread those long days and injured fingers, the rewards are always worth it. We told you before, if you've yet to attend a live runway show, you are missing out. Put that on your bucket list. As for us, it's just the beginning of a long season of orders and production. Ahhh, but for the love of it...there's nothing like it.
Our inspiration for SS15 was skateboarding, and named Sidewalk Surfing. The cool free-spirit of the sport, along with nature's backdrop color scheme in much of the skateparks. Obviously we stayed true to our aesthetic and injected our signature feminine twist to it, but we feel we were right on for what the Larika Page girl would want to wear if she were in the culture. We kept the hair feminine rugged with variations of crown braids and cornrolls. Our make up was fresh sunkissed, illuminated eyes and rich pop of orange on the lip. And lastly, we accessorized with cool pairs of platform perforated oxfords in yellow and blue. The story was perfect as it walked the runway.
Here are some great photos of our collection as well as a video recap. We owe a major thank you to everyone involved that helped make the show a success. Thank you to the beautiful girls of Click Models for bringing the collection to life, to the amazing hairstylist Lisa Pope for transforming my hair inspiration into the glamorus crowns of braids that adorned each girl, to the incomparable Diana Shelton and Mikki Farrar for taking my make-up ideas to a level I couldn't image, to Jenna and Taylor for their months of hard work coordinating the designers on every aspect, to all of the assistants back stage making sure everything ran smoothely and last but not least Katie Kern and Angela Watts for creating a first class platform for us to exhibit our talent on!
Hope you love the new collection as much as we do and be on the lookout this spring to purchase it! Also let us know what you think, we love your input!!
