A native of Portland Oregon, Larika Page learned very early on the offerings of self-expression in the arts. Graduating from a performing arts high school and attending college at the tender age of 16; vision and self-discipline have been the pillars of a beautiful artistic journey. Although she chose Accounting as an initial career, she quickly understood it was not her calling. However not at a loss, she found that her bout in Accounting prepared her for her true passion of running a fashion business. Destiny lead her to enroll in the Fashion Program at American Intercontinental University to follow that dream.
Fast forward a few years and Larika launches her debut collection in 2010 at Charleston Fashion Week. That year proved to be the beginning of a whirlwind love affair she has for fashion and design. Winning the prestigious award of Charleston Fashion Week’s “Emerging Designer of the Year” for her Spring collection entitled “Miami Beach- Circa 1950” was the moment that all of Larika’s hard work, dedication and perseverance was validated. Praised by industry peers and greats, by the likes of Mychael Knight, Cynthia Rowley, Carmen Marc Valvo and Anne Slowey (Elle Magazine), her talent was undeniable. The designer’s career began to take shape, and quickly. Larika landed her first retail account with a luxury lifestyle boutique, after exhibiting at Atlanta’s Apparel Mart. Growing in demand, “The Collection” collaborated expression and vision with various celebrity photographers and national stylists.
As if being able to turn the pages of multiple print publications (Atlanta Magazine, Upscale Magazine, Southern Flourish) and click a bundle of online media sources (Elle.com) was not enough, Larika found herself also accepting the 2010 “Best Upcoming Fashion Designer” Atlanta Fashion Award. Larika was welcomed back to CFW as a featured designer to showcase her fall 2011 collection. Inspired by African and Indian ethnicities, she designed a collection rich in texture and print while staying true to her aesthetic of feminine, youthful sophistication. After showing to a heavy hitter front row consisting of Anne Slowey, Janie Bryant, Derek Blasberg and Fern Mallis, the press’ rave reviews proved to be the perfect cap to a successful show. Continuing to brand her line, Larika’s design was featured on her client as Jezebel Magazine’s Best Dressed Atlanta, December 2012. By spring of 2013, another dream was realized with the opening of her studio in the heart of Buckhead, allowing her to grow the brand further by having a standing presence for her clientele.
Larika is very passionate for giving back to her community. An avid believer that “to much is given, much is required” she dedicates her time yearly to costume design and wardrobe styling of KIPP Strive’s student fashion and talent show. She has also lent her talents to empower students during speaking engagements at Clark Atlanta University’s B.R.A.G week and serving as a mentor to students of alternative schooling with assiting in them getting back on track. As a wife and mother of two, juggling business and family is a great task but with her love for each of the areas in her life, she strives to bring a healthy balance to both. She is grateful for the ability to share her passion with the world.
